Building a Durable Rural Iowa
Iowa House District 26
Brett Mohler

Engineer. Father. Neighbor.

I grew up in Waterloo but moved to Albia in 2003. I've called this district home for 23 years. I met my wife Brigitte here, and we are raising our son Asher here.

As a Tool Designer in the agricultural manufacturing industry, I solve real problems every day. I'm not a career politician. I'm running because our rural communities are being left behind by Des Moines.

"We are watching a managed state of decline. Politicians extract wealth from our counties and hand it to donors. That is why I'm running." — Brett Mohler

The Platform

Return AEA to Locals

Rural kids deserve the same resources as city kids. Return control of Area Education Agencies to the communities they serve.

End the Voucher Handout

We shouldn't subsidize private schools in Des Moines with our district's tax dollars. Public money belongs in public schools.

Tools for Schools

A grant program to buy shop equipment for high schools. AI won't plumb a hospital or run a lathe. We need trades.

Water Protection Partnerships

Support voluntary "Batch & Build" conservation that works with producers—using tools like wetlands and saturated buffers—to keep our soil healthy and water rates low for every family.

Right to Repair

If you buy something, you should have the freedom to fix it. I support legislation that protects your property rights while keeping technology safe.

Protecting our Rights

I will defend the entire Constitution—including the Second Amendment. I stand for the fundamental freedoms of all people.
